Admission into the National Defense Academy (NDA) entails two steps, a written entrance exam and interview by the Services Selection Board (SSB). The UPSC conducts two written entrance examinations for NDA each year: in April and September. Each written exam consists of two papers administered using pen and paper mode with questions that are objective-type with negative marking.
