It's time for another update, and today we're releasing firmware 5.5.6. This is our 6th release since the initial availability of the UniFi AC Pro AP in January, and it includes several security updates to help keep your network safe. As of 22nd of April, 2018 we had transitioned to 5 year support for all existing UniFi hardware and software, including new products (like the EdgeMAX), and also services (like our remote management & monitoring offerings). UniFi UAP-AC Pro, UAP-AC Lite and UAP-AC Enterprise were all on 5 year support for controller versions 4.5.x and 4.7.x; however, we've now taken UniFi Controller version 5 and made it the default and only version supported going forward: https://www2.ubnt. com/unifi/support.html#5-year-end-of-supportVersion 4.7 was the first to drop the S/N requirement for new UAP hardware, which will allow new users to create their first UniFi controller using a PSTN phone number. The earlier version of this article shows admin login must be typed in with US English ('á') accents for locales that use 'a', but this is no longer the case for version 4.7. If you are upgrading from an earlier release of UniFi Controller, you may see admin login error messages when logging in, even though your installation still works fine. To resolve this problem, remove your old controller installation and install the latest 4. 7 version before logging in.
