The American Pie reunion was a complete success. The cast of the hit movie reunited to celebrate the film's twentieth anniversary by performing three classic scenes in front of thousands at the famed Hollywood Palladium, right before their set at Coachella. The crowd went wild for scenes from "American Graffiti," "Vacation," and "Clueless."
The five main cast members are James Marsden, Tara Reid, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Jason Biggs, and Alyson Hannigan. All five were in attendance for this one-night-only appearance with their fellow American Pie co-stars Eugene Levy and John Cusack.
The After Party was held at the El Rey Theatre in Hollywood. It featured a screening of never-before-seen footage from the American Pie series and an appearance by Garfunkel and Oates. The event also recognized the work of other American Pie alumni, including Randy and Jason Sklar, Orlando Jones, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Mena Suvari, Tara Reid, Natasha Lyonne and Natasha Gregson Wagner.
The Music of American Pie featured an original song performed by various artists dedicated to the memory of American Pie director Paul Weitz who died in August 2014. The song was performed by Mena Suvari, Rumer Willis, Natasha Lyonne, Natasha Gregson Wagner and Alyson Hannigan.
The American Pie reunion was broadcast on CBS Sunday night during CBS Sunday Morning entitled "American Reunion".
On May 7, 2018, the cast of American Pie reunited for a special event at Comic-Con. The show reunited them all at the Showmasters Stage in the main Hall to meet with fans and sign autographs. The other actors were not present due to various filming commitments. It was later announced that they would be releasing official merchandise only available at Comic-Con including an American Pie bobble-head bronze statue, four different toys and newly recorded music.
The American Pie reunion is to be released on Vimeo. The complete showing of the reunion was available for members of the site to view with limited content not made available to non-members.
On June 28, 2018, American Reunion was released on Netflix.
