Oxycycline is used for treatment of bacterial infections such as respiratory tract infection, urinary tract infection, sexually transmitted diseases, skin infections, eye infections, gut infection and other relatively rare kind of infections such as rickettsial infections (caused by a variety of bacteria from the genera Rickettsia), psittacosis (infection caused by Chlamydophila psittaci, a type of bacteria found in the droppings of birds), brucellosis (a bacterial infection that spreads from animals to people — most often via unpasteurized milk, cheese and other dairy products), cholera (infectious disease that causes severe watery diarrhea), bubonic plague (the commonest form of plague in humans).

The action of Oxycycline may be antagonised by beta-lactamase. The absorption of the Oxycycline is reduced by cations such as Ca, Mg, Fe,Al.
What are the possible side effects of Oxycycline?

MYCONAZOL PLUS cream is well tolerated. MYCONAZOL PLUS cream does not stain the skin. Occasional burning and itching due to miconazole has been reported. Long-term continuous treatment with topical corticosteroid should be avoided as far as possible as this may cause atrophic changes in the skin These changes are particularly likely to occur on the face and when occlusive dressings are used.

Systemic absorption of topically applied corticosteroids may occur, particularly under the following conditions: when large quantities are used, or when application is made to wide areas of the body, or to damaged skin; when potent topical corticosteroids are used; and when the occlusive dressing technique is applied. Therefore caution is recommended during the lactation period.

If a secondary microbial skin infection is present suitable concomitant anti-microbial therapy should be instituted.
